Rock Singer Attacked By Concertgoer

May 21, 2006

At around 11:30 p.m. on Friday night, May 19, 2006 reports to local authorities from cell phones came in that an all-out fistfight had broken out during a NAPOLEON BLOWNAPARTS concert at a popular night club (Doll Hut club) in Anaheim, California, according to a press release sent out by the band's management, L.A.G. of Tarzana, California. An unknown audience member bum-rushed the stage, attacking Jim Norris, lead singer for opening band THE INFAMOUS UNKNOWNS, knocking him into the drums and onto the stage floor, where both men scuffled.

Audience members described the event as a really ugly reminder of what happened to former PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. Another witness said "some guy just dove" right at Norris while he was on stage in the middle of the song and all of a sudden bodies were flying everywhere. The fight poured out into the street where the singer punched and pummeled the surprised bully to the sidewalk. Norris was accosted by bodyguards and then led back to the stage where he finished the band's set unscathed. The BLOWNAPARTS took the stage on time and blasted through fan favorites like "The Good Kings", "Do Ya Like My Haircut", and "Nowhere To Go". No further violence was reported, according to the press release.
